The PBL model, which emphasizes learning through real-world problem-solving, is designed to foster students’ critical thinking, independence, and active engagement in the learning process. This research employed a classroom action research design, conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and assessment sheets administered after the instructional sessions. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the application of the PBL model supported by video media significantly enhanced students’ critical thinking skills and their ability to solve problems effectively. Thus, the PBL approach proves to be effective in improving both the learning process and outcomes in computer network instruction.
2025-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Vokasi Indonesia http://jurnal.mifandimandiri.com/index.php/jpvi/article/view/143 Applying the Discovery Learning Model to Enhance Students’ Learning Competence in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Education 2025-04-29T00:11:37+00:00 Oktavianus Turuna Gulo oktavianusturuna@gmail.com
This study aims to improve students' understanding of the Computer Networks topic in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) subject for Grade X at YAPIM Senior High School, Medan, through the application of the Discovery Learning model. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted over two cycles. Each cycle included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The results showed a significant improvement in students' comprehension, indicated by an increase in the average test scores from 58 in the first cycle to 83.8 in the second cycle. These findings suggest that the application of the Discovery Learning model is effective in enhancing students' understanding of Computer Networks material.
2025-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Vokasi Indonesia http://jurnal.mifandimandiri.com/index.php/jpvi/article/view/144 Applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Method in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Education 2025-04-29T23:34:13+00:00 Raudatul Izmi raudatulizmilubis@gmail.com
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) learning is a process that involves the use of instructional media such as laptops, projectors, the internet, and other digital tools. This study aims to examine students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in ICT instruction. PBL emphasizes student engagement and critical thinking skills in solving assigned problems. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation and testing. The research subjects consisted of 18 ninth-grade students from SMP Swasta Darma Medan in the 2023/2024 academic year. The results showed that 13 students (72.22%) achieved mastery learning, while 5 students (27.77%) did not. These findings indicate that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model can enhance students' learning outcomes in ICT education.
2025-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Vokasi Indonesia http://jurnal.mifandimandiri.com/index.php/jpvi/article/view/145 The Role of Educational Technology in Enhancing Students’ Literacy and Numeracy through the AKM Assessment in the Kampus Mengajar Program 2025-04-30T00:06:48+00:00 Sinta Ulina Situmorang sintasitumorang07052001@gmail.com
Literacy refers to the fundamental knowledge required by students to comprehend written texts, while numeracy denotes the ability to understand and apply numerical concepts in everyday life. To assess students' literacy and numeracy skills, it is necessary to administer standardized tests. This study aims to analyze the literacy and numeracy competencies of fifth-grade students at SDN 101914 Kampung Baru through the implementation of the Minimum Competency Assessment (Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum/AKM), as part of the Kampus Mengajar Batch 6 program. The AKM test was conducted in two stages: (1) a pretest for both literacy and numeracy, and (2) a posttest for both domains. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods to calculate students' average scores. The findings indicate that the Kampus Mengajar program contributed to improvements in students' literacy and numeracy skills. This is evidenced by an increase in correct responses, with literacy scores rising from 47% in the pretest to 69% in the posttest, and numeracy scores increasing from 27% to 50%. These results suggest that the intervention supported both student learning outcomes and educational innovation.
2025-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Vokasi Indonesia http://jurnal.mifandimandiri.com/index.php/jpvi/article/view/146 Implementation of the Problem-Based Learning Model to Enhance Students' Critical Thinking Skills in Information and Communication Technology Subjects 2025-04-30T00:40:59+00:00 Yunulius Yunulius yunuliusyunus@gmail.com
This study investigates the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students’ critical thinking skills. The research aims to improve the critical thinking ability of students through the application of PBL in a classroom setting. A classroom action research design was employed, involving students of Grade X at SMA YAPIM Medan as the research subjects. The intervention was carried out over two cycles. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation of test results, and evaluations conducted at the end of each cycle. The findings of the study indicate that: (1) there is a significant effect of the PBL model compared to the discussion model on students’ problem-solving abilities; (2) students with high achievement motivation demonstrate significantly better critical thinking skills than those with low motivation; and (3) there is a significant interaction between the learning model, achievement motivation, and students' problem-solving abilities. It can be concluded that students taught using the PBL model exhibit superior problem-solving capabilities compared to those taught through traditional discussion methods.
2025-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Vokasi Indonesia
