Publication Ethics

Journal of Business Evolution and Economics is one of the journals managed by PT. Mifandi Mandiri Digital and was first published in March 2026. It is an online-based scholarly journal that publishes scientific articles and research papers in the fields of business, management, entrepreneurship, and economics. The journal serves as a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to disseminate research findings, theoretical studies, and innovative ideas that contribute to the advancement of business and economic sciences.

The Statement of Scientific Publication Ethics serves as a code of ethics for all parties involved in the publication process of this journal, including the publisher, editors, reviewers, and authors. The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication upholds three fundamental ethical values:

(i) Neutrality, being free from conflicts of interest in the management of publication;

(ii) Fairness, granting authorship rights appropriately to those entitled; and

(iii) Honesty, being free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publication.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Journal Manager

1. Determine the journal’s name, scope, publication frequency, and accreditation when necessary.
2. Appoint members of the editorial board.
3. Define the relationship between the publisher, editor, reviewers, and other parties through formal agreements.
4. Respect confidentiality concerning contributors, authors, editors, and reviewers.
5. Implement norms and regulations regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
6. Review journal policies and communicate them to authors, the editorial board, reviewers, and readers.
7. Establish a code of conduct for editors and reviewers.
8. Ensure regular and timely publication of the journal.
9. Guarantee the availability of financial resources for the journal’s sustainability.
10. Build networks for collaboration and marketing.
11. Prepare necessary permits and legal documents.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor

1. Bridge the needs of readers and authors.
2. Strive to continuously improve the quality of publications.
3. Implement processes that ensure the quality of published manuscripts.
4. Promote academic freedom and objectivity.
5. Maintain the integrity of the authors’ academic record.
6. Issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies when necessary.
7. Be responsible for the writing style and format, while the content and statements remain the authors’ responsibility.
8. Actively seek feedback from authors, readers, reviewers, and the editorial board to enhance publication quality.
9. Encourage evaluations of the journal when required.
10. Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by requesting ethical clearance forms approved by the Ethics Clearance Committee.
11. Promote awareness and education on publication ethics among researchers.
12. Evaluate the effects of editorial policies on authors and reviewers to improve accountability and minimize mistakes.
13. Remain open-minded toward new perspectives or differing opinions.
14. Avoid personal bias, ensuring objective editorial decisions.
15. Encourage authors to revise their manuscripts to meet publication standards.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers (Peer Reviewers)

1. Review manuscripts assigned by the editor and provide feedback as a basis for publication decisions.
2. Avoid reviewing manuscripts that involve personal or professional conflicts of interest.
3. Maintain the confidentiality of authors and refrain from sharing review results or recommendations.
4. Provide constructive criticism, suggestions, and recommendations to help authors improve their manuscripts.
5. Re-evaluate revised manuscripts according to established standards.
6. Conduct reviews in a timely manner, following the journal’s style and adhering to scientific principles (data collection methods, author legitimacy, conclusions, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

1. Ensure that all listed authors meet the criteria for authorship.
2. Take collective responsibility for the content of the article, including methods, analyses, calculations, and details.
3. Disclose the sources of research funding, whether direct or indirect.
4. Acknowledge limitations of the research.
5. Respond to reviewers’ comments professionally and promptly.
6. Inform the editor if they intend to withdraw their manuscript.
7. Declare that the submitted manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere in any language, and is not under consideration by another publisher.
